Hong Kong

We landed in Hong Kong on Dec.30/11 for two nights. We thought it'd be a good way to reaquaint ourselves with Asian life, plus it's one of THE places in the world to be for New Year's Eve. The city dresses itself up very nicely for the holidays (both western and Chinese). We explored Kowloon a bit more this time around, only spending a couple hours on the island.

  • Hong Kong has the most efficient method of getting from the airport to your hotel that we've seen. A train takes you from the airport to this station where you are quickly sorted according to hotel destination and quickly transferred to a small shuttle bus that wisks you to your hotel. Here we wait for our ride to the Holiday Inn.
